What are starches and why can’t I have them?

Starches contain at least 15 grams of carbohydrates and gives off at least 80 calories per serving. Starch is the most common carbohydrate in the human diet and is contained in large amounts in such foods as potatoes, wheat, maize (corn) and rice. Starch is also contained in many of our snack foods such as chips, bread, crackers, cereal, and desserts.

Pure starch is a white, tasteless and odorless powder that is insoluble in cold water or alcohol. While on the HCG Diet we can and need to learn to avoid starch in whatever form it takes. But once we reach P4 of the hcg diet plan we can eat starch but we must learn to limit our starchy intake. Basically measure your starchy intake with this as your motto. “If your scale says yes then you can.” If the scale doesn’t agree with the amount of starches you intake, then leave them alone. I would give you a list of good starches but there really aren’t any. But what I can suggest is that you stick to vegetable’s they are awesome and so very good for you! So there you have it my dissertation on starches hope that info helps.
